Dining Review: Abundant Place Garden Café

Abundant Place Garden Cafe Cavite Palitaw with Hot Tablea Chocolate

A cozy, atmospheric, little restaurant. The Abundant Place Garden Café fares to maintain a relaxed, welcoming setting– their cobblestone path with a reddish-earthy tone, airy canopies, and hanging décors like their paper lanterns complemented their landscape dramatically.

We all felt safe since their seating was spread out; only two dining tables per area were placed. We were lucky we got there with no other customers yet.

They have a handicrafts shop across the dining area. My mom loved their home décors and bought curtains with shell embellishments. There was also an events place at the back.

For their menu, I believe most ingredients were locally sourced. Prices were affordable. We got to try almost everything in their menu.

Sinigang na Hipon. The shrimps were large and fresh. The soup was to die for. It was sour but not so much that it’s off-putting. It tasted so good that we finished the broth quickly and asked for a refill.

Pinaputok na Tilapia. The staff recommended this dish. Like the shrimp, it was also fresh. I totally understand why it was recommended. The texture of the fish was great. How it was seasoned and how the tomatoes complemented the fish was lovely.

Chicken with Tofu. It reminded me of Max’s tofu sisig, but with chopped chicken. My mother does not eat tofu but she enjoyed this one, too.

Sweet and Sour Pork. Deep-fried pork with a sharp, fruity sauce. It was so tasty, bagay sa rice.

Bangsilog. Your traditional Filipino breakfast. It came with fried rice and egg and dipping vinegar on the side.

Pancit Bihon. Nothing out of the ordinary but this is satiating – we did not get to finish this dish so nakapag-Sharon Cuneta pa kami.

Ending our meal with Palitaw with Hot Tablea Chocolate. My dad grew up drinking this; it reminded him of his childhood. He knows his Batirol and rated it 5/5. The Palitaw, however, is very new to us. Their Palitaw, with its usual coconut shavings, is drizzled with coconut caramel sauce. The edible flower garnish was also a thoughtful touch.

Any other booboos we experienced there can be easily fixed. The dishes took a while to be served, partially our fault; we came in that day unannounced because their contact number was out of reach.

Super thankful to them for handing us a gift before we leave. My Plantita heart is pleased.
